Children should never bring sharp objects, and other small toys to the daycare. They could easily choke on the small items that could fit into their mouth.
The Center uses positive techniques of disciplining. Redirecting is one of the most effective tool of disciplining. We try to get the child to focus on something else. Also after 2 years of age we use timeout or a rest time to let the child calm down. Parents are encouraged to inform the Center of situations at home such as a new baby, death or illness in the family. Children sometime act out if their environment has changed or the people in their lives are going through stressful situation.
If case of extreme bad weather; we will call the parents to pick up their children. Our policy is the same as the public schools. We will ask the Parents to come pickup your children. If there is not enough time; the students along with the teachers will go into our bad weather or tornado drill. All doors are closed and locked and no one can enter or
leave. If we are told to leave; we will go to Gautier Elementary School next door. Please have a current telephone number and enter it on the sign-in-sign out log in a legible fashion.
Routine Fire Drill
Routine fire drills are conducted monthly in addition to tornado drills. In the event of an actual fire; the fire alarm will AUTOMATICALLY go off and the children and staff know where to go in case of an fire. The alarm in the Center automatically call the fire department and police station.
If we experience an electric outages and we are told by the Singing River Electric Company that the power will be off for an extended period of time. Parents will be called to pick up their child/children. We cannot compromise the health and safety of the Children.
